is rp3410-2 ceritifed Oracle 10g R2?
I would like to find the information regarding to the certified hardware model for Oracle database.
Currently, we are looking for a new HP-UX server, there is two main options:1)RX-2620 2)RP3410. However, we want to ensure that our choice can be running w/ our Oracle database 8i and more important, the Oracle database 10g R2. Since we are planning to upgrade our 8i into 10g R2 in next year.
I have search the Oracle and HP website. Of course, used GOOGLE,t00 I cannot find out something like "RP-3410 is certified w/ Oracle 10g R2". There is something like.HP-UX PA-RISC is certified w/ Oracle 10g R2.
Can you recommended any location for me to find out the subjected information?
Many Thanks

Re: is rp3410-2 ceritifed Oracle 10g R2?
As long as your current system runs HP-UX 11i v1, an rp3410 or rp3440 is a good choice for a new system, as long as you install the same OS. (You can probably ignite the new server with an ignite backup of the current system).
However, if you have any possibility to keep your current database running on the current hardware and buy en rx-series system (look at the rx3600) to run your Oracle 10g R2, you have the advantage of a having much faster processor for your new database. But this rx-series server cannot run Oracle 8i

Oracle certifies by OS and patch minimums, not by hardware machine type. Search for a certification matrix

Don't forget to run the VALIDATE script to verify that you system has the proper patch level, required software (JDK) and the kernel is properly tuned.
This script is available on Metalink.
kind regards
