jdbc test connection

Anyone have a simple script that test the jdbc connection to a database.

I found some on the web but can't get it to compile.

hi,

can you post the piece of code and the error messages?

What is the environment in which you are trying to do the test?

You may look into SQLDEVELOPER which allows you to create custom connection to the database. e.g.
jdbc:oracle:thin:scott/@localhost:1521:orcl
