listener hung
when i do
LSNRCTL> start
Starting /apps/oracle/product/7.3.2.2/bin/tnslsnr: please wait...
it just sat there and does nothing, i could not even kill it. kill or kill -9 does not actually kill it.
Even svrmgrl also gets hung.
Any suggestion ?

Like Dave, I suspect the tnsnames.ora and/or the listener.ora file(s) had the IP coded within. If so they'll need to be changed to the new IP.

You'll have to fix the problem and then reboot the box to get rid of the bad process.

Ip-address change was made through SAM and i have checked the hosts file , which has correct ipaddres for the server.

didnt remove setuid of any files in /usr/sbin.
-r-sr-xr-x 1 bin bin 49152 Apr 20 1999 /usr/sbin/lanscan

That's not quite what I meant.
Does lanscan hang since the IP address change? If so that's the problem.
