mail from HP-UX to internet

Hi all.

I want to send msgs (mailx ...) from an HPUX box (internal network) to internet.

Now, I can send msgs to the mail server (WinNT NOTES) for internal users (me@mydomain.es), but when I send a msg to someone@anotherdomain.com, it looks that sendmail don??t know who rely the msg (and I want it to rely to the NOTES server).

The HPUX resolves names with internal DNS, but this DNS can't resolve external names. (of course NOTES server can resolve external names ...)

I only have modified sendmail.cf in these 2 lines :

Dj$w.mydomain.es

and

DS acacias1.mydomain.es

Sendmail version : 8.11.1

Thanks in advance.

Re: mail from HP-UX to internet

Hi,

Take a look at :-

http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,,0xa2817d4cf554d611abdb0090277a778c,00.html

It's how to send mail to a user via an MS Exchange mail server.

If your mail server is configured to foward the mail on to the internet then you should be ok.

Regards,

Dave.

Re: mail from HP-UX to internet

Hi,
I Think You should have no space on the line DS in the file sendmail.cf.
In addition you should pay attention to the file /etc/nsswitch.conf if NIS and/or DNS have been configured.
