maxdsiz, etc. for HP-UX 11 and Ora 7.3.4(4)

Currently my maxdsiz (and in fact most kparams) are at default. What are the recommendations for kparams for this environment?

(Oracle Financials on Oracle 7.3.4.4, K570 DB server - 3GB RAM 2x200 procs and K370 AppServer -3GB RAM and 1x200 proc.)

Depends on how big your database is. It is under SAM->Kernel Configuration->Configurabile Parameters->Action->Tuned Parameter Set->Database Server System
That is going to adjust the kernel params.
Look as well as the recommendation from Oracle.

These are the recommended values for Oracle

SHMMAX 0x40000000
SHMIN 1
SHMMNI 100
SHMSEG 10
SEMMNS 200
SEMMNI 70

Increase maxdsiz and maxtsiz to correspond to shmmax.

These are the defaults for maxdsiz for HPUX 11.

Minimum: 0x400000 (4 MB)
Maximum: 0x7B03A000 (2GB) Default: 0x4000000 (64 MB)

I currently run oracle 8.0.5 on K580 and am using the following values:
maxdsiz=1Gb
shmmax=1Gb
