ora-07445 oracle 9.2.0.5 problem on HP-UX 11.23


Hello,
I have an Oracle instance release 9.2.0.5 on
HP-UX 11.23.
After starting the instance with sqlplus the database is open, but the instance is unusable.
Every SQL command, such as desc
returns the following error in alert.log:

ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump [kpodsso()+1312] [SIGSEGV] [Address not
mapped to object] [0x9FFFFFFFBF74
D560] [] []

Other 9.2.0.5 instances on the same server run
without any problem.

hi,

understand that there is a known bug when issuing "desc" on 9.2.0.5 if you have start database via srvctl instead of sqlplus. you may like to refer to Oracle metalink bug no. 4204753.

do u want to restart your db again via sqlplus and see if the problem still exist?
