hello,
I have just made the importation of the data on a basis but the users have a problem of stressing of the data. indeed, on the level of my file will init.ora, it does not have there a parameter of language. on the level of the file of log of export, I find only parameter US7ASCII. how to make to be French?.
thank you.

Re: problem of stressing at the time of the import tool
You probably may not need to change this...
The Ascii character set may not include the circumflex, the ague or the grave, but I have run databases for our Canadian division without a character set change... There is often a predominence of le Francais, n'est pas?

Re: problem of stressing at the time of the import tool
You need to verify that the NLS_LANG enviroment variable is set to the character set that you are trying to use. Oracle will use US7ASCII by default with the import if this parameter is not set.

Brian

Solution
hi,
As Brian mentioned above, you should set the NLS_LANG environment variable before doing the IMPORT.
Most probaly you would use WE8ISO8859P1 for French.
Also, see Metalink note: Note:100122.1
