running trace or tusc on HP-UX 10.20
New user. 2nd posting.
I've run into a problem on a J5600 server and would like to trace the function calls of a process. The version of trace that we have doesn't work on the J5600 (32-bit vs. 64-bit) and will not be upgraded. I searched the FAQ database. See below:
----------------------------------
For HP-UX 11.x, the tusc command provides system call tracing functionality. It is available at:
ftp://ftp.cup.hp.com/dist/networking/misc/tusc.shar
For HP-UX 10.20 and prior versions, the situation is murkier. A system call tracing program is available, called trace, from
Interworks as well as the Software Porting and Archive Center web sites mentioned in FAQ 3.13. However, this program only works on some
systems (mostly 700s). The author, Kartik Subbarao has declared trace obsolete in favor of tusc, and has discontinued further development and bug fixes.
Note that the tusc system call tracing tool is made available by the good graces of Chris Bertin of Hewlett-Packard.
Thanx to Kartik Subbarao & Rick Jones (raj@cpu.hp.com):
------------------------------
Anyone know of a tracing program that works under HP-UX 10.x for J6000?
Thanks for any help.
Mike D'.
