second sybase instace does not start up
Folks,
We have one Hp 9000 7410 Server with HPUX 11.i, Database - Sybase ASE-12.5., with physical RAM 5GB., and swap 9GB.
We are still in the process of getting two sybase instances up and running on this machine, simultaneously. We are able to startup any one of them alone, but not together. It certainly looks like a shared memory definition related issue, either in the sybase configuration or in the Unix Kernel itself.
I am attaching the unix kernel parameters here with Sybase parameter files as well.
Would appreciate if anyone could help in this case..
Thanks in advance,
Cheers !!!
Mathew.

Re: second sybase instace does not start up
Hi Mathew,
After seeing kernel parameters it looks like your kernel parameter related to semaphores are not proper you just increase value of following parameter and try it should work.
semaem
semmap
semmni
semmns
semmnu
semmsl
semume
and shared memory parametre
shmseg
This should solve your problem positively.
