Top 5 celebrity restaurants to try after your HP Discover sessions in Las Vegas

DiscoverInsider on ‎05-03-2013 08:13 AM

Love them or hate them, celebrity chefs have defined the Las Vegas dining scene. The online personas of these chefs certainly draw crowds to their establishments—and some of them even put out more-than-decent food.

Las Vegas is known for excellent, if not necessarily affordable dining. So, to make sure you’re spending your dining dollars wisely during your time at  HP Discover 2013 in Las Vegas, we’ve done the research for you to identify some top celebrity chef–owned restaurants that produce quality that matches the big names. Here’s a list of top picks.

The New York Times described this Italian-inspired steakhouse fit for the “serious carnivore.” Featuring organic, super prime beef cuts (think 6–8 month dry aged) and an exclusive wine list, Mario Batali’s Vegas venture offers an elegant setting and simple, protein-focused menu.

MGM Grand Hotel & Casino
3799 S Las Vegas Blvd

James Beard Award Winning Chef Tom Colicchio’s famous steakhouse offers mainstays like Kobe beef but specialties also include veal, salmon, and lobster. Craftsteak is notable as one of the few restaurants on the Strip that sources ingredients exclusively from small family farms and other specialized local venues. The steakhouse also offers more than 200 varieties of Bourbon and Scotch.

Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino
3950 Las Vegas Blvd
(702) 632-9400

Daily: 11:00 a.m. - 10:30 p.m.
Happy Hour: 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Best known for Fleur de Lys in San Francisco (and TV, of course), Chef Hubert Keller created a more casual experience in Vegas. Fleur features French and internationally inspired small plates that can be enjoyed in the bar, lounge, patio, or the more formal dining room. We hear the burger is notable.

Joël Robuchon
MGM Grand Hotel & Casino
3799 Las Vegas Blvd South
(702) 891-7925

Friday & Saturday: 5:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.
Sunday - Thursday: 5:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

Highly touted by the Michelin Guide, Forbes Travel Guide, Wine Spectator and other publications, this restaurant serves French cuisine offered prix fix or a la carte. The namesake founder, Joël Robuchon, hails from France and is one of the few chefs on the strip who built his reputation on food alone, rather than television appearances. Limited seating creates an intimate dining experience. Reservations recommended.

Mesa Grillbobby flay.jpg
Caesers Palace

(702) 731-7731

Monday–Friday: 11:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.

Based on his first New York restaurant of the same name, Bobby Flay’s Mesa Grill features what he does best: bold, spicy Southwest cuisine served in a fun, yet elegant environment. Conveniently located near the Coliseum, Mesa Grill is a great before- or after-concert dining experience.
