12H AutoRAID compatibility with HP D330 server

We currently have a 12H AutoRaid attached to an old HP G50 server. We wish to migrate the application from this onto an HP D330. Is the AutoRaid compatible?

We run HP-UX 10.20 on both servers.

Hello,

This is fully-compatible with the D-Class system.

Yes it is, I presumed you're connecting your 12H to the FWD SCSI on your G50 ? The D330 should have at least 1xHP-HSC FastWide adapter that comes standard.

Not only is it compatible but you can vgimport the data so that you don't have to recreate LUN's. You will need to do an insf to create the device nides on the D-box.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: 12H AutoRAID compatibility with HP D330 server

Make sure you do a 'vgexport' of each of the volume groups that are on the 12H prior to disconnection from your G50. copy the file(s) to your D server.

e.g.

# vgexport -m myvg.mapfile -v -s /dev/myvg

Check out the man pages for 'vgimport/vgexport'
