Re: 12h disk drives
But you can include a drive either using the front panel or the arraymgr commands.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: 12h disk drives
If the 12H is set to Auto Include, you will have very little to do. The formatting of the disk is not applicable, as the array will (if set) include it. You then create additional LUN's to utilise the space, or leave it unallocated for improved performance, or allocate as an active hot spare.
To include a disk into the array if the Auto Include is not set. To set auto include to on:
arraymgr -i on
To manually include the new disk
arraycfg -D
Once the disk is included, you can use the extra capacity as you wish. Although if you wish to make an existing LUN bigger you are strongly advised to backup your data and re-create the LUN and then reload your data.
You may find that the array will carry out a load balancing operation to take account of the additional disk.
If you do not have the manual for the Model 12H, it is located here:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00269878/c00269878.pdf
Hope that helps,
Mike.
