ACU Cannot find MSA1500

Hi,

We have an MSA 1500 connected to one a couple of our servers. The issue we are having is that we cannot use the ACU on both the windows and the Linux (VMWare) server to manage the MSA.

When we load up the ACU it only shows the local controller. we are running version 7.8 on the windows server and 7.9 on the Linux/VMWare server.

The only way for use to manage the MSA1500 is to shut down and reboot one of the attached servers with the ACU Boot CD. Only then will it find the MSA and allow us to do what is needed.

Has anyone come across this and if so how do we resolve it ?

Most probably a driver issue, since the HP provided CD is detecting the MSA (so hardware connectivity is OK)
What HBA model do the servers have, and what driver version?

The HBA's are Emulex LP11000 Models.

They are using driver version 5.2.42.0 (25/01/2007)

I found the issue.

I just needed to install the HP StorageWorks Fibre Channel Adapter Kit for Emulex Storport Driver for Windows Server 2003

All working now.
