Adding D2700 to P2000 G3

Adding D2700 to P2000 G3

I have a P2000 G3 in production and need to add a D2700 shelf to the existing environment. Is it possible to do this as a hot add or will the P2000 G3 need a power cycle to recognise the D2700 and its disks?

On further reading of the documentation it is apparent that the D2700 should be added to the P2000 G3 in a powered off state rather than as a hot add.
