Adding a new disk to VA7410

Hi all,

We are using VA7410 and we have added a new disk to array, since that time the array status is balancing for 40 hours. Also we need to add a new disk, so can we add the new disk now while array is balancing or should we wait ?

You should wait till the array is balancing.Performance will be hit..

After array balancing , you can add harddisk, so you should wait till array balancing.

Thank you for the replies.

Adding the new disk was an urgent situation for us so we added the disk while array is balancing.

We didn't see any problems, after adding the disk it was formatted and included automaticaly.
