Adding additional disks and expanding

I have a 14 bay disk shelf currently. 5 slots are populated and I want to add 9 more drives. The controller is a 5300 Smart Controller and my OS is W2k server. I have inserted the drives into the slots and I see them as unassigned when using ACU utility.

What is the best way to expand these drives? Do I do one at a time or all nine drives at once. Everything I have read tells me that the expansion can take a long time.

My ultimate goal here is to increase the disk space of my logical drive.

Suggestions? Thanks

Hello Vito
i'd say that patience is the only weapon in this case.
I suggest to expand your array one disk at a time ,and finally extend your logical drive.
Next use the diskpart utility from winxp sp2 and assign the new capacity to your windows drive.

BUT FIRST DO A BACKUP OF YOUR DATA
