Array 532 Controller Help
The scenario
I have ML530 G2 server,
On Drive Cage A 6 harddisk and RAID1 is configured, and working fine.
NOW I want to installed 4 more hard disk on Drive Cage B with RAID5.
MY Questions is
DO I NEED TO BUY NEW ARRAY CARD AND CABLES TO CONNECT MY 4 HDD.
IS SCSI CABLE CONNECTED TO BACK PANEL OF THE DRIVE CAGE B OR I HAVE TO GO FOR CAGE CABLE ALSO.
WAITING FOR IMMEDIATE REPLY.

Re: Array 532 Controller Help
Get a copy of the ProLiant ML530 Generation 2 Server Maintenance and Service Guide
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/CoreRedirect.jsp?targetPage=http%3A%2F%2Fh200001.www2.hp.com%2Fbc%2Fdocs%2Fsupport%2FUCR%2FSupportManual%2FTPM_281405-004%2FTPM_281405-004.pdf
I would seem that, YES, the cage "B" should be attached to a Channel "B" with a cable. BUT I would assume if the cages were pre-installed, it is already attached with a cable to something.
ProLiant ML530 Generation 2 Server Setup and Installation Guide says that it is shipped with drive cages cabled to the scsi a and b.
Of course you have surmised that your 532 has only a single internal channel connection, with the second channel connection being external, but how your internal cabling has been done, you will have to leave to your own inspection.
I do not know if the cages could be cascaded together as long as you change the id's on one to not match the first. Bit if not, yes, you would need an additional channel for the cage B
