Re: AutoRaid question: how to activate hot spare
Hi, (again)
The feature of the autoraid to automatically
go a to hot spare is a feature, hence it's
name. These disk array's are set up as RAID 5
therefore, if a disk fails, it automatically
switches over to a designated hot spare. It is not done from the front panel.
Once the faulty disk is replaced, the hot
spare re-builds the new disk, and on
completion, makes itself once again the *hot*
spare.

Re: AutoRaid question: how to activate hot spare
you can do it through the control panel.
Disk changes
Active Spare on
arraymgr -h on
would be cli.
man arraymgr for more info.
btw: You can also do it from SAM
Later,
Bill
