Battery replacement for Smart Array 6400 Controllers

I am about to replace the battery on a 6400 controller. Does this affect the RAID in anyway? Do I risk loosing data? Should the change over NOT affect the RAID or data?

no it will not , as long as the battery is the correct replacement part.
