Business Copy Agent - Console Messages request Reboot, Securepath complains

We have an EVA 5000 configuration in production, with a Business Copy EVA network, version 2.2.

The Business Copy host is a NetBackup backup server Windows 2000 Server sp4 - BC jobs create/delete EVA snapshots on wintel SAN hosts and mount/unmount these on the backup server. All volumes are basic, not dynamic.

The issue is that there are numerous console messages on the BC agent/host whenever LUN's are mounted or unmounted. Most messages are Windows "new hardware found...restart is required. Do you want to restart?" or Securepath complaining "a device has been removed" from the system by the BC "undo" job.

Rebooting the BC host as requested does not prevent the messages from recurring. Also re-running the BC jobs doesn't seem to reduce the frequency. Isn't BC supposed to seamlessly unmount and mount LUN's?
