Business Copy and Snapshot Space-Efficient on XP12000

Snapshot Space-Efficient, How does it works on XP12000 ? (Design, ppt,etc)

Can I use this for DEV/Test environments (Read/write) ? What is the impact/risk with the volume source ?

Quick & Dirty:

Business Copy XP: Think of mirroring a LUN (asynchronously, for performance). All data is copied to the BC LUN.

Snapshot XP: Point in time copy of a LUN. Same as BC on a VA or VSnap or an EVA, if you are familiar with either of those products. Only the CHANGES to the primary volume are copied to the snapshot LUN. This is much more space efficent, but that becomes less and less true as time goes on.
