Business copy backup license

Hello
I need an urgent help

I have business copy backup configured for my database ( Enables zero-downtime split-mirror backup ). I want to know What are the implications on the current BC RTU licenses we have. Where can I check this or from where I can get this detail.

Thanks
Rajeev

Re: Business copy backup license

Zero Downtime Backup ZDB relies on Business Copy BC. ZDB initiates BC and uses that copy for backup purpose.

BC allows creating a clone or snapshot of your DB volumes. You need enough TB LTUs (License to Use) to create your closnes.

The ZDB LTU for Data Protector allows you to integrate the licensed amount of LTUs in your automated backup.

You did not state what array you are using. This is imporatnt since the licensing schemes are different for EVA and XP

Re: Business copy backup license

We are using XP 512 Array

Basically looking from where I can get license information.

Thanks

Re: Business copy backup license

If you have Command View XP installed you can check it there. See the attached PDF.

If you do not have CV it can be checked on the SVP Console. Have your HP services representative checking it for you!

PS: BC licensing on the XP is based on the sum of all source and all target volumes.

Example 1:
Sourec vol 1TB, 1 BC clone taken = 2TB LTU needed

Example 2:
Sourec vol 1TB, 3 BC clones taken = 4TB LTU needed

Cheers
