CA on XCS 6 with M-series

Hi,

on document Advisory (Revised): HP StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Array XCS v6.110 Release, it is specified :

When running XCS 6.100 or later, M-series switches are not supported in HP Continuous Access EVA configurations.

I don't find this info on SAN Design Guide.

It is meaning that is running, or is it possible to use it a data migartion within the 60 days license period?

Cheers

Jean-Pierre

Re: CA on XCS 6 with M-series

Hi,

McData SAN switches and EVA 4x/6x/8x compatibility

a) EVA/XP CA is not supported using McData 4Gb san switch for hp p-class blade system in a CA path between the storage. However, it can coexist in fabric using CA.

b) EVA 4x/6x/8x can be directly connected only to the McData Intrepid 10000 director and only with the firmware 6.200. EVA 4x/6x/8x can coexist with the Intrepid 10000 with earlier version of the EVA firmware

c) EVA CA has not other support exceptions, except the one in b)
the pain is one part of the reality

Re: CA on XCS 6 with M-series

Hi,

it means that EDGE SWITCH 2/24, either with 6.100, 6.110 or 6.200, are not supported.

Thank you
