Can not initialise eva 4400

Brand new eva 4400 and brand new dl360 g5 for Command view.

Cable up and all is good

its a 2c1d
has 12 disks installed.

Install windows Server 2003 standard sp2

Then run eva smart start to install command view 8.0.1

Fibre channel card is HPAE312a

I can not initialise the SAN.

The error I get from the EVA smart start is

"You do not have enough disks to create a storage cell" (strange I have 12).

Firmware of eva is 09001000
OCP Firmware is : 1.00.00.080211

I am aware that these are old (from factory like that).

But I can not do a firmware update until the san is initialised.

I have replaced the fibre also just to check

The Command view Server is "direct" attached and I have changed that in the OCP and COnnection and status for that are Green.

I can see the san in command view....but when I go to click on it I get error that it can't communicate with san

Re: Can not initialise eva 4400

Hi,

you could check the SAN zoning of the Command view server with EVA4400 FC front ports

the latest EVA 4400 firmware is here:

In Command View do you see the disk enclosure and all the disks?
