Command View EVA and VMWare
Anybody here have experience about Command View EVA running in a Virtual Machine over VMWare ESX using NPIV?

Hi,
Although I've never tried it, I suspect this isn't a supported configuration.
However, looking at the latest QuickSpecs for CV EVA it says any general purpose server should do.

Could be an interesting experiment to see if it could be made to work...

NPIV is simply not available today.
On ESX V2.5, I've once mapped one SACD as a raw LUN. CV could 'somehow' recognize the EVA, but did not work properly.
I might not have hit the master controller and could have mapped more SACDs, but ran out of time and as this stuff is simply unsupported I did not play with it again.
