Command View EVA

How do we tell CV EVA to stop managing an EVA? I want to move an EVA to another SAN and I don't want the current CV EVA to start complaining when I'll unplug the FC cables.

Thanks.

Re: Command View EVA

Hi,
do you have only CVE or also ISEE and WEBES installed on the EVA management server pls?

Re: Command View EVA

Please note that I also have WEBES and ISEE installed. Therefore I don't want HP to receive false alarms that connectivity has been lost with the EVA.

Thanks

Re: Command View EVA

These are latest versions so the removal should be straightforward:
all 3 components should be uninstalled correctly via ADD/REMOVE programs

WEBES 5.2

ISEE A 4.00

CV EVA: Version 8.0.1

Re: Command View EVA

some additional examples of the possible previous versions problems during the uninstall:
a)CVEVA 4.0/4.1, there were problems with evaperf uninstall during the CVEVA uninstall

Re: Command View EVA

I don't think that you can. CV-EVA will detect when another instance has taken management ownership and then back off, though.

If possible, I'd stop the management server before removing the EVA. If you boot, CV does a new discovery. You can then remove the old EVA from the WEBES' entities.

On the other hand... even a false alarm will be a good test that the monitoring infrastructure does still work.

Re: Command View EVA

Thanks for your suggestion Uwe.

That's exactly what I was thinking.
