Re: DS20 with Raid

Hi Alfredo,

Can you be a bit more specific... There are a number of different RAID cards that could be used in a DS20...

What do your devices look like in VMS (show dev d)

Cheers,

Rob

Re: DS20 with Raid

Hello Rob,

thanks .

The customer is very slow.. ( like Digital Ultrix 4.0 .... do you remember ? )

By the way I need to ckeck on site your question.

Almost sure ==> KZPAC-AA or KZPAC-CA (1 or 3 channels).

My goal

Replace these disks with raid by other disks without raid

Please do you have some suggestion ?

Thank you again from São Paulo - Brazil.

Re: DS20 with Raid

OK. If you've got a KZPAC then the disks will be seen in VMS as DR* devices.

I doubt you'll be able to change the RAID configuration and keep the data on the disks, so you'll probably have to backup and restore the data.

If you want to reuse the same disks without RAID, then you'll probably be best just moving them to a SCSI card, rather than the KZPAC, however bear in mind that this will mean different device names, which will probably mean reconfiguring things in VMS...

Hopefully that makes sense. If not, please let us know exactly what hardware your customer has.

Cheers,

Rob
