Different OS's in MSA 1000?

Is it possible to share same MSA with diffent os's? I mean creating different LUNs and each of this one conected ONLY with one OS. One of this attached to HP-UX and another to Windows 2003.

Thanks, folks.

Carlos,

The combination of W2K3 and HPUX is not possible.

HPUX runs only on a single controller with a specific firmware

I think yes. You will have to set port behaviour on MSA to multi OS.

Re: Different OS's in MSA 1000?

Shalom,

With a firmware upgrade you can have mutliple HP-UX machines.

You should be able to assign one LUN to the windows box and 1 LUN to the HP-UX box.

What may be problematic due to the filesystems being different is sharing a LUN.

The limitations of this device have been made less severe with recent firmware releases.

Carlos,

It is NOT possible.
I am sure

Here you find the statement

HP-UX 11.11, and 11.23 homogeneous environments only. (limited single controller homogeneous configurations)
