Re: Disk Array
Has the cache of your diskarry ever been enabled? Do you have two SPs and a BBU installed? Can you find any hint in the UEL why the cache is disabled?

Re: Disk Array
That is disk array caching, which in your case is disabled.
Enabling caching for read and write will speed up access to files. You can select cache size, depending on how much memory your SP has, up to 64Mb for the Nike 20.
To enable, you must be sure of the following:
1. Both SPs are powered up. You can check this from the "Peer SP Present" status in the PResentation Utility.
2. Each SP has at least 8Mb of memory.
3. Disk array is configured as follows:
- Array contains disk modules in slots A0, B0, C0, D0, E0 for the model 20 Nike.
- All disk modules are functioning (no current rebuilding)
- A hot spare is NOT configured in slots A0, B0, C0, D0, E0.
If caching is enabled successfully, you will see the status becoming "Enabled" after a few moments. However, LUNs should be enabled with write/read cache in order for caching to take place. This can be done from the "Change Logical Unit Parameters" menu in Gridmanager.
To enable disk array caching, after checking the above:
From GridManager Main Menu, choose "Change Parameters", then "Change Storage system Paramters" and "Change Storage system Cahce Parameters". Answer "Y" for the question asked, then answer "E" for enable.

Re: Disk Array
You have a Nike 20, right?
What type of SP did you replace? Is it Sauna, or Phoenix?
Is it SP or SP620?

Re: Disk Array
You have the Sauna (SP).
Did you replace the SP in the correect manner?
Here's how:
Removing SP
1. Disable cache (in your case it was disabled anyway, so no need to)
2. Open fan pack
3. Set SP power switch to disable. The switch is on the SP itself for the Sauna.
4. Pull out SP.
5. Remove any installed SIMM memory modules.
Installing SP
1. Disable the enable/disable switch on the SP.
2. Install the removed SIMMs from the old SP.
3. Install SP in place.
4. Enable the enable/disable switch on the SP.
5. Enable cache (in your case, you cannot since you have 1 SP).
