hi,
can anody tell me, is possible with a smart array 6i to extend a RAID 1+0 form 2 disk to 4 without destroying the on board data

Yes, online RAID expansion and migration is supported.
After that you'll have an extra empty space that you can use to create new logical drives or expand the existing ones.
