How many disks can you have in a Eva3000 disk group??

A disk group on an EVA must have at least 8 disk drives. It can have up to the maximum number supported by the array: EVA3000 = 56 disk drives, EVA5000 = 240 disk drives.

The EVA3000 can have up to 7 disk groups (56/8). The EVA5000 can have up to 16 disk groups.

It seems you would really benefit from this document. This document should give you a detailed best practices reference on the number of disk groups - pros n cons + lots of other really good design + configuration considerations for setting up your EVA array:
