Disk arrangement order in new EVAs 4400/6400/8400

Hi,

I just saw some photos of the new generation of EVAs and noticed that the disks are now stacked horizontly instead of vertically in the older EVAs.

I always understood that whn creating disk groups you would spread the disks over the disk shelfs working from the lowest shelf up and was also very easy to see your disk group physically in the array.

Is this practice still the same with the new EVAs? Seems to be harder to arrange your disks in this format if the disks are horizontal.?

Each shelf has a bay 1, bay 2, bay 3... bay 12.

... so sure, the concept is still there, it just looks physically different.

True, it looks a bit different,
but as Steven wrote:
the rules are the same.

Fill all enclosure's bay1, then 2,
and so on.

Hm, it doesn't use a proportional font even though I ticked "Retain format(spacing)", but it looks fine when I cut&paste into an external editor.
