Drive Array Drivers

Whilst rebuilding several Proliant 400's with Smart-2SL Raid Controllers we have encountered problems.
1. If an assisted install is carried out using 4.80 or later it hangs just after the final reboot when it is trying to the drivers.
2. With a manual install we can get the OS working, but if we upgrade the driver from 4.2.8.0 to 4.22.0.0, we get the same hang.

This suggests the new drivers are incompatible with the 2SL.
The firmware on the card is at present 4.44.

Any suggestions or do we need to stay with the old drivers.

Re: Drive Array Drivers

I have now tracked down the problem. When using the Remote Deployment Utility (RDU), it installed the SCSI32 drivers, this was causing the system to hang.

To resolve:- Boot to DO/NTFSDOS and delete the driver (CPQ32FS2.SYS) from %system root%\system32\drivers. The system will now boot, go into the SCSI apple in the control panel and remove the Not Started' SCSI driver there.

This only works if the driver was not installed prior to using the RDU.
