DtS on MSA 1000 with more than 32 Volumes total?

This one is for the gurus...

So the MSA 1000 has 16 volumes already on it and I intend to move an array with another 20 on it through DtS. Now this would be more than the 32 volumes officially supported per MSA 1000.

I know one way is to try to consolidate volumes. I want to check if anyone has tried more than 32 volumes and what did they see?

Possibilites as I see are...

1) All volumes (36) come up
2) 16 existing volumes from MSA and 16 volumes from DtS migration come up (4 lost from DtS arrays)
3) All volumes from DtS (20) come up and only 12 volumes come up from MSA existing volumes
4) DtS fails, no arrays recognised. But MSA existing 16 volumes work as previously
5) MSA panics

Any hints/ideas/white papers would be truly appreciated.

Regards

the DtS process will partially work, since the MSA1000 has only up to 32 volumes then you wont get all of the 36 volumes you'll get the original 16 volumes plus the new 16 volumes, you'll lose 4 volumes.

Hello,

that's not possible. You can't add more then 32 logical drives to an MSA. If you add 20 logical drives due a DtS process, you will lose the last 4 logical drives.
