ES45 - KZPCC Lock Start/stop soft errors - what do they mean ?

Hi,

I have an Alpha Server ES45 with Tru64UNIX v5.1a patch kit 4 with a KZPCC.

In wsea I am getting a lot of messages :-

SWCC_Header_Agent_Packet
SWCC_Agent_ID x0001 KZPCC
SWCC_Record_Type x01 Agent event
Additional_Packet_Data_Lengthx000A Length of data field
Parameter_Code x100F
Event ID[11:0] xF Lock Start/Stop
Severity Level[15:12]x1 Soft Errors

What is a lock start/stop error, and should I be concenred about it ? Is there a way to stop these ?

This is filling up my binary errorlog file, and since it is reported as a KZPCC error it masks more fatal errors that may have ocurred.

Any input appreciated.

Thanks
Andrew

Hi Andrew,

I am a Alpha field service engineer. Yesterday i had the same issue at a customer site.
I did replace the KZPCC and there where no events anymore. I suspect the battery on the cacheboard is bad, because there where some events about the battery between the softerror's.
