EVA 3000 and HP-UX 11.11

I have a client that recently purchased a new EVA 3000 array, and has SAN attached it to a pair of rp3440 servers. The storage has been configured and presented to the servers. File systems have been created. However, when a server is rebooted, it takes an excessively long time to complete and the attached errors scroll by again and again.

I suspect there is a misconfiguration with the array, but I did not originally configure it, and am not familiar with this array.

Hi Joe,

We have faced the same issue in my place. Please try to increase the pvtimeout value to 120 to all the pv's using pvchange -t 120 /dev/dsk/cxtydz

One more option is to go for Secure Path it will increase the overall performance

Secure Path for Active/Passive controllers is REQUIRED if you want a multipath connection to an EVA3000/5000 with VCS firmware < V4.

Joe,
To use the EVA3000 with HPUX and multipath support you need to install Secure Path if you have VCS 3028 or earlier.
If you hace VCS 4.xxx then don├В┬┤t need secure path and you can use PV links.
