EVA 3000

I have just bought a second user EVA3000. I have all the parts.

However because i do not have a rack i do not have a World Wide Name lable with the info on it.

I would also like a quick overview on all the connections.

Thanks in Advanced
Nick

Re: EVA 3000

Hi Nick,

The hardware configuration documents appear to have been removed from HP's website for some reason - or I'm just not searching properly !

Anyway, I had a local copy, which I've just uploaded here:

http://leadbeater.org.uk/docs/AA-RS28D-TE.pdf

Note that it's 43MB in size.

As for getting hold of a WWN, that is tricky. I had to do the same as you and in the end had to borrow the WWN of another EVA.

If you search online for the string 5000-1FE1 you should find links to documents that contain a WWN that you could use - for example there's one in here:

http://h71028.www7.hp.com/ERC/downloads/5983-1674EN.pdf

However, you'll have to guess at the Checksum, in order to enter it into the controllers :-(

You might also find a WWN and CheckSum on the label on a disk enclosure...

Hope this helps,

Regards,

Rob

Re: EVA 3000

Command View Version 7? Then you have to add the (Windows) user to the (Windows) "HP Storage Admins" group.

Re: EVA 3000

Hi,
this storage admins/storage users accounts started from the CVE 6.x, the next step if you want the nice EVA trap filtering is the WEBES app
the pain is one part of the reality
