I have a customer with:
EVA 4000 XCS v. 5110 and CV 6.02
Can I uninstall CV an install CV 9.0x
and then upgrade the XCS to 6.220? or do I have to upgrade the XCS first?
I've seen the support matrix, but I could probably be ok with installing CV (and the new IRS) during businesshours.
And then upgrade XCS after businesshours when we got a maitainance-window.
Will this work?
Regards
A

Re: EVA 4000, XCS 5110 CV 6.02 upgrade
As per the Command View matrix XCS 5.1x is not supported with 9.0x.
PS: Remember to check the licenses - since you'll need new license for Command View.

Re: EVA 4000, XCS 5110 CV 6.02 upgrade
I know its not supported.. but I wonder if it works.. so that I can upgrade CV first.. and THEN upgrade from XCS 5110 to 62xx using CV9x

SolutionOK - Well i would assume it would work fine, but i haven't tried it. - But if you ask HP you might be told to install Command View 8, and upgrade the array, and the install Command View 9.
If you're not going to manage newer arrays you could just stick with 8.0.2.

Re: EVA 4000, XCS 5110 CV 6.02 upgrade
You will ALSO need to sort out your EVA licences. From CV V7.0 onwards it uses a different format for the lice keys.
However CV7.x =180 days CV8&9=60 days unlimited licences for all features.
You can use this site to migrate your customers licences as long as they have a HP contract or you may have to buy new ones ?!?
