EVA 4000 - find host Port WWN

When adding a hp-ux host in CV, should I be able to see the Port World Wide Name of the server? Im told there is no zoning on the network - so does hpux require zoning in order to see the server Port WWN?

There is only one Port WWN listed in the drop-down box even though there are already many hosts.

Re: EVA 4000 - find host Port WWN

Hi again Francis,

it is recommended to set up zoning in a SAN for several reasons.

Is the OS already running on this server?

If yes and there is really no zoning, do an ioscan and after this have a look into command view.

The HBA WWN (read it by fcmsutil /dev/fcdx or /dev/tdx) should be shown there. If not, check the switch again.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Ask your SAN folks about a "switchshow" and a "zoneshow" from the switches in play here.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.
