EVA 4400 - Cannot delete a disk group
I have a 4400 EVA box and I can't delete a disk group. I am using the Command View to do the job.
As soon I click the "delete" button this answer shows up.
"Objects in your system are in use, and their state prevents the operation you wish to perform."
The disk group is empty. There are no vdisks defined. I really don't understand where the problem is
Did any of you face this problem?
Thanks in advance.

Re: EVA 4400 - Cannot delete a disk group
did you try to reboot the CV EVA server?
Also can you tell which version of XCS and CVEVA SW are you working on.
Maybe an old FW be the cause.

Re: EVA 4400 - Cannot delete a disk group
How many Disk groups are in EVA.
If it only one then you can't delete the DG. The option is to uninitialize the EVA and re-initialize.

Siva

Re: EVA 4400 - Cannot delete a disk group
Is it a default disk group you are trying to delete?
Default disk group is the one which gets created automatically when you initialize the EVA.

Re: EVA 4400 - Cannot delete a disk group
Anyway Pablo, like Siva wrote: if you want to delete everything, why not just do an uninitialize then instead and start from scratch?
Make sure you have the WWN+checksum handy.

Re: EVA 4400 - Cannot delete a disk group
Thank you for your responses. I restarted de Command View but I had the same error when trying to delete de DG.
The XCS version is 09522000.
On the other side I have 4 DGs in the array.
I am not the EVA admin so I have no idea which is de defauld DG. Can you tell me how to figure out which of them is the default DG?
Best Regards.

Re: EVA 4400 - Cannot delete a disk group
There are two groups on CV EVA "HP Storage Admins" & "HP Storage Users" if your user is only a member of "HP Storage Users" you can only view but canot change anything.
can you also send a screen capture of the disk group properties?

Re: EVA 4400 - Cannot delete a disk group
Attached to this post is the image of the CV with the DG details.
I am the Admin user so I suppose I shouldn't have permission issues.
Thanks again for your help

Re: EVA 4400 - Cannot delete a disk group
Try deleting it from SSSU, follow the below syntax:
Syntax
delete disk_group group_name
Example
Delete the disk group resources:
delete disk_group " \Disk Groups\resources"
Please let me know if it doesn't help.
Thanks,
BK
