today I've updated an perfectly working EVA 4400 up to:
1. XCS0900400
2. 0001.02000 /seen like 1.00.00.080916/
...as written in the manual.
BUT: After the upgrade the bloody management module can't see one of the controllers - what a surprise-:)
Well, the situation:
1. IP address of MM is default: 192.168.0.1
2. IP address of SMS server is 10.x.x.x
3. From the CV point of view everything is normal
4. When I try to change the IP address of MM to 192.168.0.100 I receive an error "Error updating Management Module configuration data on the storage cell. Status code: 6003"
5. Controller1 is not visible, although is working normally
What I already did:
1. Restarted MM to defaults
2. Pre-flashed the FW of MM - the EVA wasn't visible.
3. Set the switch port pointing to MM to 100MB/Full duplex and the Storage was found, exept one controller
3. Restarted the MM
4. Restarted Controller1
5. Restarted Controller2
6. Tried to set up different IP address of the MM, but received error 6003.
Is the network guilty or MM faulty?
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance
Dobromir

Re: EVA 4400/XCS0900400/0001.02000 - error updating network for the management module
The MM configuration is stored in the EVA's meta-data, not on the MM.

the EVA is initialized and operational already.
The old address of the MM is in 10.x.x.x subnet

SolutionFrom your description it sounds like the internal communication is still disrupted if you reset the IP address with the (//) button. At this point I don't have an idea and suggest to get help from HP (I do hope you don't have to reinitialize the system to get rid of the 10.x address...).

Re: EVA 4400/XCS0900400/0001.02000 - error updating network for the management module
I just waited about 24hrs for the metadata update and then everything was working just fine.
Thanks a lot!
