EVA 8000 flooding HP SIM

Hi Guys,

We had an EVA 8000 with 6 of the host ports directly connected to our SAP production server. This was migrated onto new storage, and obviously those ports no longer have anything connected.
The issue now is that this particular EVA is throwing out a lot of false errors in HP SIM, and flooding the database (causing SIM to crash).
I've taken a look in CV EVA, deleted the old host and container folder, so there is no reference to it anymore.
However, it still shows these 6 ports as failed.
What do I do from my side, as I haven't figured it out yet!

THanks,

Craig

Re: EVA 8000 flooding HP SIM

There is probably nothing else you can do except connect something to these ports.

Hope this helps!

Re: EVA 8000 flooding HP SIM

So you have configured Command View to send SNMP traps to SIM?

In "Configure Event Notification" you can choose to send only Critical events.
Or you can open the list and select the event codes that you want reported.

Also, let me suggest you to do things in another way, and install IRS to take care of the EVA events analysis, it has rules to generate an alert when needed.

Re: EVA 8000 flooding HP SIM

Iwould try an fc loopback connector to close the open ports.

Hope this helps!
