EVA 8100 Upgrade with Disks & Enclosures
Hi,
I have been requested to advice on upgrading an EVA 8100 with additional 2 Disk Enclosures with 28 X 450GB 15K FC drives. This is to upgrade an EVA8100 storage.
Please help me with the right parts numbers for the Disks and the Enclosures envolved.
Is there any add-on component such as loop cable that I have to add ? or is it included with the enclosure order package ?
Best Regards,
Yaboto

Re: EVA 8100 Upgrade with Disks & Enclosures
Hi, quickspecs are here: http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12745_div/12745_div.html
The part you want to read is: "Step 8 - Expansion Options".
What you need depends on what your current setup is. For example if you need to get to a second rack.
It's the M5314C enclosure you want, or the option number: AD542C
"The M5314C is a 3U dual-redundant FC Loop 14-bay disk enclosure with mounting hardware, and the necessary copper FC cables for connecting to an HSV200B and HSV210B Controller pair."
Looks like it comes with cables, and there's mentioned in the quickspecs for the copper FC cables that they are not needed for new installations. But are they for upgrades?
Disk: 450 GB 15K rpm dual-port 2/4 Gb/s FC-AL 1-inch (2.54 cm) drive
