EVA 8100 maximum disks in a disk group
In an eva 8100 i have 84 Disks (300GB, FC, 10k)in 8 shelves installed.
All disk are in one disk group.
Now i extend the Storage with 28 additional disks (I fill all shelves to the maximum namber of 14 disks).
Is it possible and usefull to add the new disks to the exisiting disk group? Are there any performance or availability issues?
Thanks

Re: EVA 8100 maximum disks in a disk group
Last time I checked, you could put (all) up to 240 disk drives in a single disk group. I don't have a reference, but got told once that the performance does not improve beyound 120 to 160 disk drives in a group.
The downside is that the leveling due to a disk failure, ungroup or group takes more time on a larger disk group. But, no, it does not make sense either to create many, small disk groups ;-)
