is there any document available translating the Command View EVA output of the I/O module Hardware Type and Hardware Version to Sparepart Numbers?
We have an EVA5000 with the following I/O Module Revisions (Command View Output):
6 Enclosures are:
Hardware type: 01 01
Hardware version: 05 05
Firmware version: 01.02 01.02
2 Enclosures are:
Hardware type: 03 03
Hardware version: 00 00
Firmware version: 03.00 03.00
but the Service Manual does not cover "Hardware type" and "Hardware version" like displayed by CV-EVA but only part- or sparepart numbers... 70-40615-S1 and 70-40616-S2 or 245143-001 how can i know wich module is installed witout uninstalling it and read the sparepart numbers?
Thank You

Re: EVA I/O module Revisions
some help you can obtain from HP Partsurfer
http://partsurfer.hp.com/
Find part numbers for all components of disk drive enclosure AD542A HP STORAGEWORKS M5314A FC DRIVE ENCLOSURE. One of the components is I/O module.

Re: EVA I/O module Revisions
unfortunately Partsurfer would not help, i need to know what SparePartnumber an installed (productive) I/O Module has without uninstalling it.
the only Information i Have is the CV EVA Output:
Hardware type: 03 03
Hardware version: 00 00
and if the module is the right one for the B-Enclosure or not....
The Sytem has been extended with used Parts, the original Config was:
6 Enclosures with I/O Modules:
Hardware type: 01
Hardware version: 05
the Extension
2 Enclosures with I/O Modules:
Hardware type: 03
Hardware version: 00
Is the Hardware Type 03 newer than HW Type 01 or is version 05 newer than 00 ?

Solutionhwtype 1: M5314, 2: M5314A, 3: M5314B
OK for EVA-3000/5000
I have conflicting info for support of M5314A on EVA4000,6000,8000 (2Gb + 4Gb models), but M5314B is OK.
hwtype 4: M5314C (embedded switch)
only for EVA-4100,6100,8100 !!
If I recall correctly (didn't look into this for some time now), there are also at least two EMU revisions.
Well, I've just looked at an EVA-4400 and its I/O modules have a hardware type 02, but you won't be able to put them in the M5314x enclosures anyway ;-)
