EVA SAN New Drives
Hi,
I am new to SAN,
I am using EVA 3000, 3 enclosure, each enclosure has 4 disk bay empty. Currently I have 146GB fc disks in all the enclosure. I bought 4 disks for each enclosure (300GB). Please let me know what I need to do to add these new drives in to existing group.
Regards,
Syed

Re: EVA SAN New Drives
If you really want to add the new drives to the existing diskgroup, just select the drive and click on "group".
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: EVA SAN New Drives
1st. If you have not installed them yet... insert them into the disk shelves, one at a time. Wait 90 to 120 seconds before inserting the next one. Continue until finished.
2nd. Using Command View, find the existing Disk Group, click "Add Disks", make sure the number of disks to add is right... and complete the operation.
3rd. Keep in mind that the reserved space for your protection level is now going to double in size, since you are putting in bigger disks.
If you have no protection level, there is nothing to worry about.
Single protection - you lose @600GB to reservation (insted of @300GB)
Double Protection - you lose @1.2TB (instead of @600GB)
