EVA vdisk with VRAID5 type

This is about HP EVA 5000.
A disk group has 10 disks.
A virtual disk with size=2GB and VRAID5 type is created from the disk group.
This virtual disk has columns=10. Correct?
How about parity? Is parity column=1 or 10?

Thanks.

Re: EVA vdisk with VRAID5 type

I am not sure what you actually want to find out and what you mean by column
!
I assume you either want to know about maintaining redundancy or striping with a small Vdisk of 2GB.

Vdisks are built with Rstores of 2MB.
Rstores are built with Psegs.
For Vraid5 5 Psegs form an Rstore (4 data 1 parity pseg)

So redundancy and striping is perfectly maintained even with vdisks of just 2GB.

Does this answer your question?

Cheers

It may or may not have answered Pearl's question, but it certainly answered mine.

Thanks Peter.

Re: EVA vdisk with VRAID5 type

Hello Peter,

isn't it the other way round? 2 MB for each PSEG and 4+1 PSEG for a RAID 5 RSTORE (10 MB)?
