EVA3000 Compatibility with IBM FC Disks?

Greetings,

I was just wondering if any of you had any idea if the EVA3000 would be compatible with the IBM FC disks... in Denmark, the price for the same size IBM FC disk is half of the HP price, so there naturally is an financial issue in this.

Thanks in advance...

And the carriers make up the other half of the price ;-)

Seriously, nobody knows unless this has been tested. And testing is a bit more than plugging in the disk, seeing if it is recognized by the system and doing a few I/Os to it.

And I agree completely, which is precisely why I'm asking the question to begin with :)

I would hate to invest in a system with 14 146gig IBM disks only to discover that there infact does exist a somewhat hidden compability issue.

Re: EVA3000 Compatibility with IBM FC Disks?

It would not work with IBM FC disks as the vcs on EVA 3000 checks for cheata drives .. Only qualified Drives would be selected at the time of creating disk groups in EVA.

so, better buy HP FC drives.
if HP FC drives are costly, FATA Drives may ne a good solution. checkout HP site.
