EVA3000 HP-UX without Secure Path
I have a developpement server I would like to connect to the SAN (switched/zoned EVA3000).
My question is : Do i need Secure Path on the dev server ? I have absolutly no requirement concerning security about the connection.
Does I need a specific driver to access the LUNs i will create ?
The dev server is HP-UX 11.11

Re: EVA3000 HP-UX without Secure Path
Without Secure Path, you don't need an additional special driver, because there is no failover involved, but you need to check the EVA release notes for any operating system patches and adapter driver versions.

Re: EVA3000 HP-UX without Secure Path
With multiple connections you NEED securepath to have a stable environment

Re: EVA3000 HP-UX without Secure Path
I tried to connect, link is OK,
I created a zone with only 1 FP and 1 HBA
I created a lun that i exported to the dev server,
After installing latest support bundles, I can see some component through ioscan :
here is an extract of the interested part :
fc 1 1/12/0/0 td CLAIMED INTERFACE HP Tachyon TL/TS Fibre Channel Mass Storage Adapter
/dev/td1
fcp 1 1/12/0/0.1 fcp CLAIMED INTERFACE FCP Domain
ext_bus 7 1/12/0/0.1.6.0.0 fcparray CLAIMED INTERFACE FCP Array Interface
target 14 1/12/0/0.1.6.0.0.0 tgt CLAIMED DEVICE
ctl 22 1/12/0/0.1.6.0.0.0.0 sctl CLAIMED DEVICE HP HSV100
/dev/rscsi/c7t0d0
hsx 0 1/12/0/0.1.6.0.0.0.1 hsx UNCLAIMED UNKNOWN HP HSV100
ext_bus 8 1/12/0/0.1.6.255.0 fcpdev CLAIMED INTERFACE FCP Device Interface
target 15 1/12/0/0.1.6.255.0.0 tgt CLAIMED DEVICE
ctl 38 1/12/0/0.1.6.255.0.0.0 sctl CLAIMED DEVICE HP HSV100
/dev/rscsi/c8t0d0
The question I have now :
Where is the LUN ??
What are the c8t0d0 and the c7t0d0 ??
I didn't find any specs or releases note about this kind of configuration . Does anybody have any idea ?

/dev/dsk/c4t5d0 /dev/rdsk/c4t5d0
Most of the disk come from an JBOD bay of disks, connected to a second HBA (td0).
I have no "DEVICE HSV100" ! Nothong connected to td1 (1/12/...).
Why does I see 2 controllers, as just one is linked through the zoning ? I should see just One ???

I am having the EXACT same problem. Were you ever able to solve it? If so how?
Thanks.
