EVA5000 performance

I'm using Evaperf.
I got following result:

Array Status (evaper -as):
Total Host
2500 Req/s

Total Node Host MB/s
60.00 MB/s

EVA virtual disk with related counters (evaperf -vd):

Read Hit
904 Req/s

Read Hit
21.66 MB/s

Read Hit Latency
0.2 ms

Read Miss
1247 Req/s

Read Miss
21.42 MB/s

Read Miss Latency
4.5 ms

I got following result in hp-ux:
c13t0d0 - EVA5000 LUN

Re: EVA5000 performance

How about some more into.

the c13t0d0 looks busy but busy is not neccessarily bad. If the requests are serviced then all is swell.

how about a sar -d 5 5

look at the avserv time. If low ( 1ms - 10ms ) then the requests are being serviced.

over 10ms on modern SANs are potentially suspect but if not consistant then no worries.

Re: EVA5000 performance

I think that the data provided is not enough. But the total requests/MB per second are low.

Why do you think that you could have a storage performace problem?

Check the IOWAIT (wa) operating system performance metric to identify if you possibly have a I/O related problem.

Poor coded or tuned applications can underutilize the storage.
